Threadless’s Beats
Beats by amirabouroumie is my favorite Threadless print this week. While the character displayed is an audio technician of some kind, what I love about this design is that it plays so well with music fans in general. Multiple instruments are in the mix, as are ways of recording or listening to music. The glasses fellow in the center looks very pleased to be surrounded by so much sound, and with his hands poised above the control panel he looks well-placed to improve on whatever he’s hearing (or at least crank up the volume a bit!). There’s a lot of skill shown in how the shapes of the objects are slotted together, with many different proportions and angles creating an interesting composition. Even better, the wires become a part of the art, twisting into shapes that lead the eye from one detail to the next. I also enjoy the soft edges of the shapes, allowing more character and personality than a sharply vectored line would have. Very nice!
