Camiseteria’s Secrets

camiseteria secrets

Secrets by Alan Maia is a really lovely piece, taking its inspiration from the ornate scrolls and decoration of antique keys. It’s the kind of piece you can’t help but enjoy and even get a bit lost in, eyes following each curve as you take in all the art. I feel like it would have been easy for the artist to just draw one key, mirror it, and call it a day, but by making two very distinct and yet still related keys the design is made to feel more eclectic, more authentic. And of course, the brilliant move of using a keyhole for the nose functions well as the glue that holds the concept together. You really can’t fault the attention to detail- even the negative space within the eyes has a subtle hint of texture, and shadows to create depth. Superb!
