Threadless’s Hell Bus

Hell Bus by ppmid is my favorite Threadless print this week. The concert scene on the roof is inspired, a great way to pull in the viewer. I like the ACDC look of the skeletal rocker, and the way the skulls on the ground beneath him could either be victims or an adoring crowd. But of course it’s inside the bus when the concept really takes off, using each window of the vehicle to show a different spooky scene. Whether solo or in groups, these characters each have something unique to portray and that keeps the art interesting as you explore. I like that some demons are extra large, so big they barely squeeze into the space, while others are so small they share their window with friends, like the trio of baby devils. And it’s not just traditional red hell creatures in this mix, I also spy a grinning grim reaper, animals, and even an undead Edgar Allan Poe enjoying the ride and some tunes. It is, as the bus reads, a “hell of a ride,” and I think a lot of people will appreciate this spooky treat.
