Pampling’s Avocalien
Avocalien by Naolito transforms an avocado pit into an object of horror in this unexpected pop culture parody. It’s a design that feels true to the nature of avocados- that unpleasant hard object lodged in delicious softness, something that makes the act of cutting open an avocado surprisingly dangerous. The pit is given a full makeover, right down to shiny fangs and spittle, that makes it look exactly like the monsters in Alien. And to reinforce that, the avocado’s face is one of sheer terror, with gritted teeth, wide blank eyes, and even worried lines settling above his cheekbones. A detail I really enjoy is the way the avocado’s skin is given extra texture to help match the realism displayed in the alien pit. Really memorable and well done.
