Threadless’s Buttons design contest

Shirts are great, but sometimes it takes a new format to reach a new audience with your message. Artists get exactly that opportunity in Threadless‘s new Buttons design competition. Here’s what they’re looking for…

According to the Busy Beaver Button Museum right here in moderately sunny Chicago, buttons were patented way back in 1896 and have since complimented important movements, political campaigns, and so much more!

Buttons can be a million things to different people, which makes them an incredibly versatile way to get a message across – not to mention a unique fashion accessory. Sometimes simple, other times fun or funny, buttons can also be part of an important political or societal statement that helps unite people. Consider bold colors, high contrast, iconic graphics, and succinct messages (if you use words), all of which work well in a tiny-ish form factor. So gather ‘round, friends, and get your button on with this Design Challenge.

This contest opens to entries on September 18th, 2020 and ends on October 2nd. One winner will earn $500 cash and a $500 Threadless gift code. All designers printed will earn $1.75 on each button sale and up to $7 per other product sold (learn more about Threadless artist payments).
