Threadless’s Censored design contest

Reveal the forbidden in Threadless‘s new Censored design competition. Here’s what they’re looking for…

Artists, writers, and creators of all types have been censored by governments or institutions throughout history. Censorship is the suppression of information, communication, speech, or ideas on the grounds that content is somehow harmful, objectionable, or inappropriate. But who controls those definitions?

Say what can’t be said in this design challenge inspired by all that’s been outlawed. Create designs depicting blurred-out art and NSFW designs. Share scenes based on blacklisted art, banned books, or other restricted forms of information. Typography or graphic elements will help you convey the forbidden nature of your designs. Speak out by sharing your censored art for this suppressed challenge.

This contest opens to entries on December 27th and ends on January 13th 2020. One winner will earn $1000 cash and a $500 Threadless gift code. Also, all designers printed will earn up to $7 per item sold (learn more about Threadless artist payments).
