Pampling’s Dartbusters

Dartbusters by 2mzdesign combines Ghostbusters with Stranger Things, giving one group of four the outfits of the other. I think it works because each group has the same amount of members and both worlds share supernatural themes and a small green creature. While Dart isn’t exactly like Slimer, he’s a character that is both cute and still a bit of a monster, so he suits the role well. What works best in this design is the way each boy’s posture and facial expression communicate so clearly their outlook and personality, quite a feat given the simplicity of the cartooning style used on the faces. The only weak moment for me is the background, which is too flimsy to add much value and loses readability due to gradients and the lightness of its color against the brown shirt.

Pampling has two options for winners of their contest. XPress winners earn 1 euro per shirt sold, with a minimum of 100 euros guaranteed. If the design sells well, designers may have the option of earning 500 euros to give Pampling the exclusive printing rights for one year. The second option is Classic winners, who earn 680 euros cash and 120 euros in t-shirts (or 720 euros cash) for the first 400 units and exclusive rights for 3 years. If the design is reprinted, the artist earns 850 euros cash and 150 euros in Pampling products (or 900 euros cash).
