Threadless: Marshmallove and more new this week

Marshmallove by andrefmuller & tihmoller (andrefmuller) is my favorite Threadless print this week. It’s a really charming illustration, depicting the toasting of marshmallows over a campfire as a romantic relationship. While the fire tosses her head to show off exciting peaks of flame and a stylish log skirt, the more mellow marshmallow is just happy to be holding her hand and basking in her presence, dabbing away some nervous sweat with a handkerchief while his skin begins to blush tan in the heat. It feels extremely sweet, as sensitively thought out as it was carefully penciled. Since this is such a common relationship dynamic, I think a lot of people will see a kinship with these characters and enjoy wearing the design.

Wholesome Pupper by Ronan Lynam (RonanL) turns a goofy dog into a source of inspiration. The dog’s expression, with his goofy smile and panting pink tongue, is perfectly recognizable to anyone who loves dogs- it has that great empty-headed enthusiasm that makes dogs seem to take everything in stride, happy to trust in the future regardless of how bleak things currently look. The way the dog has been adorned with rad sunglasses and a rainbow retro effect only serve to make him seem more excited about the world. Paired with playful text and lined decorations, the piece communicates its message clearly and with gusto.
