Shirt.Woot: White Christmas derby voting highlights

Shirt.Woot gave their participating artists a boatload of freedom in the White Christmas derby, which left the theme wide open and only asked that the artwork be placed on a white t-shirt. As such, the entries span the gamut from holiday celebrations to artistic illustrations and silly jokes. Here’s a look at two current voting underdogs that I’d like to see get some more attention…

Jack Snowman by krisren28 uses Jack Skellington’s round head to make a snowman that brings the scariness of Halloween into a winter snowfall. I like the choice of the night sky as a backdrop, which makes the concept even more creepy.

New Snow by astrobat takes its inspiration from early cartoons, imagining that snow falls in bright colors in this retro black and white place. The loose, scribbled shapes of the snow help them to feel even more chaotic and strange in this otherwise clean and smoothly lined environment.

This derby continues through Thursday at noon. The top three vote-getters will each earn $1000 cash and $2 per item sold. Additionally, other designs will be selected and sold for $2 per item each. Both top vote-getters and selected designs will be sold in a future Plus sale.
