Threadless’s Cropped design contest

Cutting corners is usually a bad idea, but in Threadless‘s new Cropped design challenge, it just might be the secret to creating cool art! Here’s what they’re looking for…

Cropped imagery is kind of like destroyed minimalism: the idea is to cut up an image, text, or hand lettering just enough to give it a cropped look, all the while making sure the image still make sense at first glance. And when you can make the reason for chopping the image symbolic or tie it into the larger piece? Even better. For this challenge, we want you to snip your design or lettering wherever you see fit (while still keeping it clear!) Slash fancy wording right in half. Is the glass half empty or half full? Crop that glass right down the middle and let the viewers decide!

This contest opens to entries on September 29nd, 2017 and ends on October 13th, 2017. One winner will earn $1000 cash and a $500 Threadless gift code (plus more prizing to be announced on 9/29/17). Additionally, all designers printed will earn $1 minimum per item sold (learn more about Threadless artist payments).
