Camiseteria’s Origami

Origami by Rodisley Jose da Silva might be titled Origami, but I think it’s equally about music. There’s something very beautiful and inspiring about this one, the way the geisha’s song seems to be animating flat paper and bringing it to life. It’s an unusual way of illustrating a very common feeling, that hearing a great song can make you feel like you’re floating. So seeing the paper fold itself into an art form of its own, origami birds, feels really right. The origami theme is further reflected in an unusual way with the crumbled paper texture used on the background. It’s both a very attractive texture and a moment of realism in an otherwise fantasy image, so its inclusion helps the transformation of the origami feel… almost possible. Very smart design work.
