Threadless Display Art for Sale

Since early July, Threadless has hired artist Joe Suta to paint three canvases a week that are a mash up of all the shirts printed. The results vary wildly in style, but they’re all pretty interesting to look at.

Threadless Wall Graphics

A Better Tomorrow: Shirts! Wallstickers! More?

abettertomorrow.gif

Germany’s A Better Tomorrow is a t-shirt design competition with a difference. While most t-shirt competitions are strictly about, well, shirts, ABT challenges their designers with new mediums. For instance, they have a wallsticker contest and big plans to branch into a variety of other areas as well, possibly including sneakers or hats.

The prevailing look at ABT is streetwear, so expect to see a lot of bold shapes and colors with a hip hop sensibility. One of the things that sets ABT apart, though, is their total lack of limits- no matter what you submit, it will be entered in the contest and be voted on. Each month two winners will be selected from the contest and each winning design receives 500 euros and will be featured in a German design magazine.

The only potential hang up at this site is that all the text is in German. The good news is that an English version is currently in the works- it might be up on the web as soon as the end of August, so keep an eye out for it (I know I will!).
