Shirt.Woot’s Derby Editor’s Choice: Things I Wish I Could Say collection

Shirt.Woot artists exposed some harsh truths and silly secrets in the Derby Editor’s Choice: Things I Wish I Could Say plus sale. If you like a shirt with a slogan, this is definitely the collection for you. Here’s what spoke to me this week…

Best of the Bunch: Really, I’m Fine by Stevegoll68 first caught my eye in voting, and I think its smart use of distortion will really shine on the printed shirt.

Nicest Surprise: Slothy Says by Astrobat uses the casual mayhem of retro cartooning to frame a rude saying.

Shirt I Am Most Biased About: My design Meditate on This is for everyone who is pretty sure that meditation and daydreaming are pretty much the same thing.

This promotion will only last until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. So if there’s something you like, grab it fast!

Shirt.Woot’s Yay, Books! derby voting highlights

Shirt.Woot’s Yay, Books! derby offered artists the unique opportunity to create art that works well on both t-shirts and journals, which led to a variety of art styles and approaches. Here’s a look at two current voting underdogs that I’d like to see get some more attention…

Unknown Pleasures by thatquietgir1 is a smart repurposing of famous Joy Division imagery as a series of waves to hide Moby Dick.

Explore It All In Books by paxdomino is packed full of action, with dramatic angles that make reading seem every bit as exciting as real sea exploration.

This derby continues through Thursday at noon. The top three vote-getters will each earn $1000 cash and $2 per item sold. Additionally, other designs will be selected and sold for $2 per item each. Both top vote-getters and selected designs will be sold in a future Plus sale.

Shirt.Woot’s Things I Wish I Could Say derby voting highlights

It’s not surprising that slogans take centerstage in Shirt.Woot‘s latest derby, which has a Things I Wish I Could Say theme. Artists came up with a lot of things to say, from the silly to the universal to the truly forbidden. Here’s a look at two current voting underdogs that I’d like to see get some more attention…

Get Your Sh*t Together by dn1ce25  is probably the sweetest poop-themed design ever, and part of what makes it so appealing is the emphasis (both in text and imagery) on togetherness- in this piece, getting your shit together isn’t a task that has to be undertaken alone.

I’m Fine by stevegoll68 impresses by perfectly capturing the style of fast-forwarding on a VHS, and the distortion of the lettering pairs nicely with the lie of the phrase.

This derby continues through Thursday at noon. The top three vote-getters will each earn $1000 cash and $2 per item sold. Additionally, other designs will be selected and sold for $2 per item each. Both top vote-getters and selected designs will be sold in a future Plus sale.

Shirt.Woot’s Derby Editor’s Choice: Monochrome-tastic! collection

Shirt.Woot celebrated the beauty of minimal color palettes with their Derby Editor’s Choice: Monochrome-tastic! plus sale. While a lot of colors were represented, there’s a special emphasis on the rich oranges so appropriate to autumn. Here’s what caught my eye…

Best of the Bunch: Cosmic Whale by Pijaczaj makes the universe feel like a vast ocean.

Nicest Surprise: To Everything a Balance by Artguyaaron first caught my eye in voting with its epic use of light and shadow to tell an engaging story.

Shirts I Am Most Biased About: My design Two Sharp Fellows unites a pair with prickly personalities, while The Great Whale Off Kanagawa fills the animal’s silhouette with artistic waves inspired by Japanese art.

This promotion will only last until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. So if there’s something you like, grab it fast!
