Shirt.Woot’s Derby Editor’s Choice: Movies & Games collection

Mashups merged together cinema and playful pastimes in Shirt.Woot’s Derby Editor’s Choice: Movies & Games plus sale. Gamers and film fans will both find a lot to like, but here’s what caught my eye…

Best of the Bunch: Forest Melody by Spiritgreen is a fine bit of pixel art, beautifully making Totoro and friends feel like a magical moment in an RPG.

Nicest Surprise: Revenge Fantasy by Steven Lefcourt is a take on the gaming convention of typing in your name before the game begins… with an appealing Princess Bride twist.

Shirt I Am Most Biased About: My design Oregon to the Future makes the trail go faster with a flux capacitor.

This promotion will only last until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. So if there’s something you like, grab it fast!

Shirt.Woot’s Kick Off Time derby voting highlights

Sports of all sorts, both fantasy and real, and pro as well as con, filled the ranks of Shirt.Woot‘s Kick Off Time derby. From pop culture themed teams to athletic tees for non-athletes, there’s a lot to get excited about. Here’s a look at two current voting underdogs that I think could use some more attention…

Boston Robotics by mekazoo creates a sporting mascot for the famous robotics innovators.

Laws of the Playground by superteo imagines the avocado as a ball-hog, using his possession of a pit to bully the other produce. The carrot isn’t about to take this lying down!

This derby continues through Thursday at noon. The top three designs (determined by votes and editor input) will each earn $1000 cash and $2 per item sold. Additionally, other designs will be selected and sold for $2 per item each. Both top vote-getters and selected designs will be sold in a future Plus sale.

Shirt.Woot Derby #719: Ad Shirts

Shirts are more commercial than ever in Shirt.Woot‘s latest derby

Starting Thursday at noon: Derby #719: Ad Shirts

The content of your design is up to you, the style is up to Kg07! We are looking for designs in the style of pre-1970 advertisements. Think pre-WWII ad style artwork; propaganda, products you can’t buy, girdles! Maybe not that last one. Or ads from the advertisers dream decade – the 1950’s. We can’t forget the Mad Men era, so we are including the 60’s for some awesome retro styles! He’ll be the judge of whether you hit the mark or not, so fire away on those questions now! Or forever hold your complaints. No cream tees, no politics and no misogyny (that ones for me, it’s just not funny).

This derby begins Thursday at noon and continues through next Thursday at noon. The top three designs (determined by votes and editor input) will each earn $1000 and $2 per item sold after the first day of sales. Those winners will be sold on Friday (1st), Saturday (2nd), and Sunday (3rd). Additionally, other designs may be selected for a Plus sale on the following Monday, with each selected design earning $2 per item sold.

Your torso will feel quite worldly with Shirt.Woot’s Derby Editor’s Choice: Countries! plus sale. You’ll find tees about both real and fictional places, all seen through the imagination of artists. Here’s what caught my eye…

Best of the Bunch: Made in Japan by Mekazoo collects icons of the country’s most popular exports, arranged in the shape of Japan’s flag.

Nicest Surprise: Airstrike! by Steven Lefcourt was a favorite in voting and sees a gap between Russian buildings as a Tetris opportunity.

Shirt(s) I Am Most Biased About: My design The Old Country is about not quite knowing where your ancestors came from, while Canadian Bacon warns the unaware that Canada’s bacon is nothing like the real thing.

This promotion will only last until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. So if there’s something you like, grab it fast!

Shirt.Woot’s Movies & Games derby voting highlights

Mashups were the name of the game in Shirt.Woot‘s Movies & Games derby, which asked artists to combine movies with their favorite games (whether video games, board games, or something else). With such popular subject matter at play, there’s a lot to like among these entries. Here’s a look at two current voting underdogs that I’d like to see get some more attention…

Pixels Attack! by BlairJCampbell has a great pulp retro feel in keeping with its Mars Attacks influence, and I love the mix of pixels and traditional illustration.

The Princess by ste7enl nails the feel of Super Mario in its style of pixel art, and anime fans will enjoy the lovingly crafted characters.

This derby continues through Thursday at noon. The top three designs (determined by votes and editor input) will each earn $1000 cash and $2 per item sold. Additionally, other designs will be selected and sold for $2 per item each. Both top vote-getters and selected designs will be sold in a future Plus sale.

Shirt.Woot Derby #718: Kick-Off

Sports fans won’t want to miss Shirt.Woot‘s latest derby theme…

Starting Thursday at noon: Derby #718: Kick-Off

It’s game-time for those of us that sport (not me, I don’t sport). But some do, and they need shirts! Shirts for tailgating, shirts for watching balls fly, shirts for getting together to eat chips and drink beers. We’re celebrating the baseketball footsoccerckey seasons that happen this time of year!

No cream tees, but thats about all the rules cause I don’t think you can get politics into sports…so just don’t, no politics.

Shirt.Woot’s Editor’s Choice: NSF… Anyone! collection

Shirts with vulgar or potentially offensive messages were the name of the game in Shirt.Woot’s Editor’s Choice: NSF… Anyone! plus sale. From visual gags and puns to political messages, there’s something to offend just about anyone. Wear at your own risk! Here’s what caught my eye…

Best of the Bunch: Closeout Sale by Jennzilla reframes a classic Seinfeld joke in the style of the show’s logo.

Nicest Surprise: Duck This by krane0223 is a great drawing of a duck, rendered with such attitude that I could believe he’s barking out the shirt’s punchline.

Shirt I Am Most Biased About: My design Global Warming Is Hot knows that climate change is so hot right now.

This promotion will only last until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. So if there’s something you like, grab it fast!
